Martin Clunes Back in Riveting ITV Drama ‘Out There’

Martin Clunes, best known as Doc Martin, returns to our screens this Sunday in ITV’s hard-hitting new drama Out There. The six-part series, tackling the brutal rise of county lines drug dealing in the countryside, kicks off at 9pm on January 19 on ITV1 and streams in full on ITVX.

Rural Crime Hits Home: The Plot

Clunes plays Nathan Williams, a widowed farmer battling grief and a violent criminal underworld creeping into his peaceful rural life. Since losing his wife Sabine two years ago, Nathan is raising his teenage son Johnny alone, played by Louis Ashbourne Serkis (The Queen’s Gambit).

The story follows Nathan’s desperate fight to defend his family and his ancestral farm from ruthless gangs using county lines drug dealing to poison the heart of the countryside. ITV describes it as a tale of a man forced beyond breaking point as his sleepy village turns into a warzone.
