Shock in Woolwich as Woman, 43, Found Dead at Home

Tragic Discovery on Argyll Road

Detectives have named the Woolwich woman found dead as 43-year-old Marianne Kilonzi. Police were called to a house on Argyll Road, SE18, at around 5:25pm on Friday, 17 January after welfare concerns were raised. Officers discovered Marianne’s body on arrival.

So far, no arrests have been made. A murder probe is now underway.

Police Lead Investigator Speaks Out

Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren, heading the investigation from Specialist Crime South, paid tribute to Marianne:

“This is a tragic crime, and our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time are with Marianne’s loved ones and colleagues. We are in contact with her family, who are being supported by specialist officers.”

DCI Soren added reassurance for the public:

“While we are in the early stages, we believe the suspect was known to Marianne. There is no wider risk to the public.”

Urgent Appeal for Information

DCI Soren urged anyone with information to come forward immediately:

“This is a fast-paced investigation. If you can help, contact police on 101 quoting CAD 5231/17Jan. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.”
