Police Appeal for Information Following Series of Offences in Camden, Islington, and the City

Detectives are appealing for potential victims to come forward after a 23-year-old man was charged with multiple offences, including sexual assault and robbery, allegedly committed in Camden, Islington, and the City of London on Sunday, 19 January 2025.

Arrest and Investigation

The suspect was arrested in the City of London at approximately 10:25 a.m. following an incident in which two women were sexually assaulted over their clothing. Subsequent investigations, including CCTV analysis and victim interviews, linked the man to a series of similar offences earlier that day.

Between 6:30 a.m. and 10:25 a.m., a total of 10 women were reportedly targeted. Incidents included sexual assaults, attempted thefts, and one robbery in which a woman’s bag was stolen. Many of the offences involved a man riding a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a Black man, 5ft 11ins tall, wearing a beanie hat and a dark grey coat.

Charges and Court Appearance

The man was charged with:

  • Six counts of sexual assault
  • Two counts of common assault
  • One count of robbery
  • One count of attempted theft

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 21 January, where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 12 February.

Appeal for Information

Detectives are urging any additional victims of sexual offences or robbery to come forward.

Detective Inspector Anna Deighton stated:

“We are making urgent enquiries to identify any potentially related offences. If you have been a victim of sexual touching or robbery in Camden, Islington, or the City, please contact us. Support will be provided, and your information could help us build a more complete picture as we continue to tackle violence against women and girls in London.”
