Man Killed, Another Hurt in Tottenham Shootout
A man has died and another remains in hospital after a double shooting rocked a North London street on Thursday night. Police launched a murder investigation following the incident in Tottenham.
Deadly Attack on Waverley Road
Officers were called to Waverley Road, N17, at around 8:45pm on March 20 after reports of two men being shot. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.
A 27-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
The second victim, aged 26, suffered a gunshot to the leg and is currently in hospital. His condition remains unknown.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“Two men were shot on a residential street last night, with one man sadly losing his life. We recognise the impact this will have on the local community. We have multiple officers patrolling the area today, aiming to obtain key evidence and provide reassurance to you,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines.
“At this early stage in the investigation, we have not made any arrests. Please do not let this worry you. We have a highly experienced team of investigators making urgent enquiries to find out who committed this act.”
“I urge anyone who was in the area after 8pm last night to contact police if they saw or heard anything suspicious. Your information is crucial and may help locate the suspects. Please do the right thing and come forward – you will be supported.”
Crime Scene and Investigation Underway
A crime scene remains in place on Waverley Road as police continue their investigation. Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact them quoting reference CAD 7426/20Mar.
