Emergency services rushed to Northwood Hills Underground Station after a person was reported to be under a train at the southbound platform. The incident occurred just before 12:32 PM today (April 4).
Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that services on the Metropolitan Line are experiencing severe delays as a result of the incident. Commuters have been advised to seek alternative routes while emergency teams manage the situation.
Response and Investigation
London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and British Transport Police (BTP) were all on the scene within minutes. The area has been cordoned off as emergency responders continue their efforts.
A BTP spokesperson said:
We were called to Northwood Hills Underground Station at around 12:32 PM following reports of a person under a train on the southbound platform. Officers, along with paramedics, are currently at the scene. We are working to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
Impact on Commuters
Passengers using the Metropolitan Line have been advised to check for updates before traveling. TfL has announced that tickets are being accepted on local buses and alternative tube routes.
One commuter at the scene, James Warren, described the atmosphere as tense:
“We were just about to board when the announcements started, and staff began guiding people out. You could sense something serious had happened.”
