One Person Treated After Shed Fire in Maidstone

Emergency services responded to a shed fire in Maidstone this afternoon, with one person requiring medical attention.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to the scene at around 4.39pm following reports of a shed alight. Two fire engines were dispatched to the incident.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control using a high-pressure hose reel jet. The fire was extinguished within an hour.

One person was treated at the scene and passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics. Their condition has not been disclosed, and it is currently unknown whether they required hospital treatment.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said:
“Crews responded swiftly and used firefighting equipment to tackle the shed fire. One individual was handed over to ambulance crews for further assessment.

Residents in the area are advised to ensure outbuildings and garden structures are fire-safe, especially as warmer months increase the risk of accidental blazes.
