A building fire at a KFC restaurant on Green Street in Upton Park has caused significant disruption this evening, leading to the closure of the road in both directions and multiple bus route diversions.

The incident, which began at around 5.26pm, prompted a swift response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Metropolitan Police. Smoke was seen billowing from the KFC on Green Street, Upton Park  reportedly caused by a poorly maintained ventilation system that allowed grease and debris to ignite.
