Blaze Hits Barking Warehouse: Four Fire Engines Race to Scene

Major Fire Erupts on River Road

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters scrambled to tackle a major blaze at a warehouse on River Road, Barking yesterday. The London Fire Brigade confirmed a small section of the building and half of a mixed-use storage area were damaged. Tragically, one car was destroyed in the inferno.

Explosion Risk Sparks Urgent Action

Fire crews swiftly removed a gas cylinder from the site to prevent a potential explosion, as heat can trigger dangerous blasts. The fire was so visible it sparked 32 emergency calls to the Brigade’s 999 Control Centre from worried locals.

Fire Teams from Across East London Respond

Firefighters from Barking, Walthamstow, Ilford, and Dagenham worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Investigation Underway

“Thanks to the quick response and professional work of our teams, the fire was contained before it could spread further. Our fire investigators will now work to determine the cause,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.

Residents in the area are urged to stay alert and report any lingering smoke or safety concerns.
