Shock Fatal Crash on The Avenue Near Wilton – Man in His 50s Dies
A man has tragically died in a serious head-on collision this afternoon on The Avenue near Wilton, Wiltshire Police confirmed.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 3.20pm following reports of a crash involving a red Vauxhall Astra and a white Mercedes Sprinter minivan traveling in opposite directions.
Despite paramedics’ frantic efforts, the Vauxhall’s driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Wiltshire Police have informed his next of kin and extended their sympathies to the family.
Injuries and Road Closure
- The Mercedes driver and two children passengers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- The Avenue remains shut as the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) probes the scene.
- Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
