Oscar Branning Returns to EastEnders in Shocking New Twist

Walford’s about to get shaken up! Oscar Branning, son of Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Tanya Cross (Jo Joyner), is making a sensational comeback to EastEnders. Now 17, Oscar is back with a bang, played by newcomer Pierre Moullier, set to stir serious trouble next month.

New Face, Big Drama

Pierre Moullier is the fourth actor to take on the role of Oscar, following Gabriel Miller-Williams, Neo Hall, and Charlee Hall. The actor is buzzing about joining the iconic Branning clan:

“It’s pretty surreal to join EastEnders – it keeps hitting me that I’m actually on Albert Square. When I found out I was joining the Brannings, it was so exciting. They’re such an iconic family with loads of skeletons in the closet. Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he’s a complex guy.”

Oscar’s return kicks off with a mysterious phone call to his sister Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), promising to turn her life upside down and send shockwaves through the family.

Max Branning Rumoured to Return

The timing couldn’t be better, with heavy rumours swirling that Jake Wood will reprise his role as Max Branning later this year. Max, a Walford staple for 15 years, last appeared in 2021. A full Branning reunion could be on the cards.

Executive Producer Promises “Plenty of Drama”

EastEnders’ new executive producer, Ben Wadey, teased what’s in store:

“I’m very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford now he’s all grown up. Oscar is very much a Branning, so there’s going to be plenty of drama this summer. We’re delighted to welcome Pierre to the role and can’t wait for viewers to see him bring Oscar to life.”

What’s Next for Oscar and the Brannings?

  • Oscar last appeared in 2017 during a visit to Max on Father’s Day.
  • Now older and edgier, he’s rumoured to be hiding some dark secrets.
  • Lauren is already struggling with personal turmoil, and with Max possibly returning, the Branning family tensions are set to explode.
  • Oscar’s intentions remain a mystery, but one thing’s clear: Walford won’t be quiet this summer.

EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
