Ofsted Suspends Nursery Over Safety Concerns
Following the incident, Ofsted swiftly moved to suspend Pitta Patta Day Nursery Limited from operating as a registered childcare provider. The suspension, which could last up to six weeks, allows time for a thorough investigation into the circumstances and safety measures.
“Pitta Patta Day Nursery Limited must not act as a registered childcare provider while suspended,” Ofsted confirmed. The suspension will be reviewed before 13 August and may affect the nursery’s registration status.
Nursery Responds: ‘No Serious Harm’
“A child was involved in an incident whilst playing in the nursery’s garden area, and an ambulance was called. Due to an initial misunderstanding, emergency services contacted police, which suggested a more serious event,” a nursery spokesman said.
“Emergency services informed Ofsted of the incident, and the nursery also contacted Ofsted. In consequence, Ofsted have suspended our operations to allow for further enquiries. We fully cooperate with the investigation.
“We are very confident in the quality of care at our nursery, recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Thankfully, there was no serious or lasting harm to any child. We will implement any necessary changes following the investigation.”
