Schoolboy, 8, Sexually Assaulted While Camping at Loch Ness

Police in the Scottish Highlands have launched a major manhunt after an eight-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in his tent while camping with his family at a popular Loch Ness campsite.
The disturbing incident occurred between midnight and 1am on Thursday at Loch Ness Bay Campsite in Drumnadrochit, according to Police Scotland.
The suspect is described as:
- White male
- Aged 40–50
- Around 5ft 10ins tall
- Bald
Family and Community in Shock
The boy’s family, who were camping at the site, were left shaken by the incident. Specialist officers are supporting the child and his family while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Christopher Macleod said:
“A dedicated team of officers are carrying out investigations and it is vital we trace the man responsible as soon as possible.
If you were within the campsite or the surrounding area yesterday evening and noticed anything or anyone suspicious, please contact us.”
Increased Police Presence
Police confirmed there will be a significant police presence in the Drumnadrochit area as they carry out door-to-door enquiries, CCTV trawls, and forensic searches.
