Grim Crime at Finsbury Park: Elderly Man Mugged on Tube Platform

A 77-year-old pensioner was targeted in a brazen robbery at Finsbury Park Tube station. The victim was waiting for a lift when a thief ripped his wallet – chained to his belt – straight from under his nose.

Bold Mugging at Rush Hour

The shocking mugging happened at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, 2 September. The attacker reportedly grabbed and restrained the elderly man before snatching the wallet containing around £200 in cash. The culprit then bolted, leaving the victim shaken but unharmed.

Police Hunt CCTV Suspect

British Transport Police are on the lookout for a key suspect captured on CCTV. They believe this man could hold crucial clues to cracking the case wide open.

“Detectives investigating the robbery of an elderly man have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to. At around 7.30pm on Tuesday 2 September, a 77-year-old man was waiting for a lift at Finsbury Park Underground station when a man approached and restrained him.

He then tore his wallet containing around £200 from him, which had been attached with a chain, and walked away. Officers believe the man in the images could have information that may assist their enquiries.”

Police urge anyone with information to come forward immediately to help bring this ruthless thief to justice.
