Man Shot in Lewisham: Police Hunt Moped Gunmen

A 22-year-old man was shot in Lewisham on Sunday evening, sparking a police hunt for two suspects on a moped.

Shot at Close Range on New Cross Road

At 6:26pm on 6 May, police were flagged down by a member of the public after spotting the injured man on New Cross Road. The victim had suffered gunshot wounds and was rushed by ambulance to a central London hospital. His injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Moped Gunmen on the Loose

Officers believe two males riding a single moped fired at the pedestrian near Besson Street, SE14. Motive is still unclear and no arrests have been made.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

A crime scene is still in place and road closures remain active as investigations continue. Police urge anyone who saw the incident or has info to contact Trident officers on 101, quoting reference 5872/6May. Anonymous tips can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
