The boy was seen fiddling with his waistband, prompting a stop-and-search. Cops found a terrifying Rambo-style knife tucked in his pocket. He was arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.
Further searches uncovered a small bag of class B drugs, leading to a second arrest for possession.
The teen was taken into custody with an appropriate adult present. He has since been released under investigation. The other three boys were not arrested but the probe is ongoing.
Met Police Praise Stop-and-Search for Keeping Streets Safe
Superintendent Kris Wright, Central South Command Unit, said: “The knife seized in the early hours by Emergency Response Patrol Officers likely prevented another violent incident. This shows the crucial value of stop and search.”
“Tackling violence is the Met’s top priority. We will keep taking knives and drugs off our streets.”
“We are working with the Youth Offending Service to provide the right support and intervention to reduce reoffending.”
