Scottish Football Fan Plunges from Sixth Floor at West London Hotel After Raging
A Scottish football fan watching the England vs Scotland clash at Wembley ended up fighting for his life after smashing up a hotel room and leaping from a sixth-floor window at a four-star West London hotel.
Chaos Erupts at Corus Hotel, Hyde Park
The drama unfolded late on Friday night at the Corus Hotel on Lancaster Gate. London Ambulance Service and police rushed to the scene after staff called for help.
The fan, staying with a friend in a £180-a-night room on the sixth floor, reportedly trashed the room after a heavy day of drinking.
One hotel insider said, “The room was badly damaged. The man had been drinking most of the day when things spiralled out of control.”
Serious Injuries and Crime Scene Laid Out
Met Police set up a crime scene as officers gave first aid while paramedics waited. Medical kits and blankets littered the hallway outside the room, with a bruised kettle lying among the mess.
The injured man was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital, a major trauma centre in West London, with serious injuries.
Companion Kicked Out, Investigation Underway
The other guest sharing the room was forced to leave and find another place to stay nearby. Police continued questioning hotel management and staff throughout the evening.
The Met Police and London Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
