Frozen in Time: Missing Man Roy Bigg’s Body Found in Forest Gate Freezer
Chilling Discovery in Former Wine Bar Basement
Roy Bigg’s remains were found frozen in a basement freezer on Friday, 15 October 2021, at around 3pm. The grim discovery came at the site of the old Simpson’s Wine Bar on Romford Road, Forest Gate. Builders working on the premises stumbled upon the body hidden away in the freezer.
Mystery Deepens Over Man Missing Since 2012
Roy vanished back in February 2012. He was approximately 70 years old when he died, born on 8 September 1944. Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, says Roy’s body may have been frozen there for years.
“Speaking to people who knew him will help us understand his lifestyle and pinpoint the last time he was seen,” DCI Allen said. “If you knew Roy, no matter how long ago or how briefly, please come forward. Any detail might be vital.”
Post-Mortem Inconclusive; Authorities Seek Information
The post-mortem failed to establish a cause of death. Identification was confirmed through dental records. Police have released an image of Roy, appealing for witnesses to help crack this chilling case.
DCI Allen urged: “If you don’t want to speak directly to police, contact Crimestoppers anonymously. But whatever you do, please get in touch.”
