A Fire Believed To Have Been Deliberately Started Broke Out At A Former Ex-club Servicemen's In Staines, Prompting Police To Launch An Investigation. On Monday, The Incident At The Riverside Club On Laleham Road Prompted A Massive Fire Response

After being called just before 5 p.m. on the 4th July 2022 twelve fire crews worked to extinguish the flames at the building. Berkshire Fire Service and the London Fire Brigade assisted Surrey Fire & Rescue Service on the scene.

Because of the large amount of smoke billowing from the fire, residents were urged to close doors and windows. Laleham Road was closed all night Monday, with police confirming that an investigation had been launched.

We’re assisting our Surrey FRS colleagues with a large fire in Laleham Rd Staines-upon-Thames that broke out at a former ex-club servicemen’s at 4.50pm,” a Surrey Police spokesman said. We believe the fire was started on purpose, and we are investigating.

Laleham Rd is closed; please avoid the area while we deal with the incident.

We’re currently in attendance with 12 fire engines at a large fire at The Riverside Club in Richmond Road, Staines-upon-Thames,” Surrey Fire & Rescue Service said earlier. If you live nearby, please avoid the area and keep your doors and windows closed.

The Surrey Fire Service thanked Berkshire Fire Service and the London Fire Brigade for their assistance at the scene.
