A massive fire in an East London high street has been extinguished by firefighters. Ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters rushed to Walthamstow High Street to respond to a fire in a row of commercial units.

The fire spread across a terrace of three commercial units, igniting a kebab shop, a phone shop, and a clothing store. Crews led three residents from the flats above the commercial units to safety.

The London Fire Brigade received the first call at 9.54 p.m. last night (January 24), and the fire was out by 12.37 a.m.

The incident was attended by crews from Walthamstow, Leyton, Tottenham, and surrounding stations.
According to the LFB, the cause of the fire is being investigated.
