Shock robbery: Woman in her 70s mugged outside Co-Op at cash machine
Attack outside High Street shop
On January 17 at around 5pm, a brazen robbery took place right outside the Co-Op on High Street, next to Hooper’s Place. The victim, a woman in her 70s, had just withdrawn money from a cash machine when she was targeted.
Thug strikes and steals cash
The attacker shoved the elderly woman with his shoulder before snatching her cash and making off. Witnesses described a quick, violent hit and grab that has left the community shaken.
Police make arrest, investigations ongoing
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the mugging. He is now out on bail while police continue their enquiries.
