Fire Erupts at Paddington Hotel, Quickly Brought Under Control
A blaze tore through half of a hotel’s ground floor near Paddington railway station in central London yesterday, sparking evacuations and chaos.
Massive Fire Response in Craven Road Drama
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received the alert at 4.41pm on Thursday and had flames under control by 6.39pm. Ten fire engines, including a rescue unit and a towering 32-metre turntable ladder, rushed to tackle the inferno at the five-storey hotel.
Neighbours Evacuated as Roads Shut Down
Half the hotel’s ground floor was ablaze at the peak of the fire. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Road closures are still in effect, with LFB urging the public to steer clear of the area.
The Metropolitan Police also arrived at 4.57pm to help manage road closures and ensure safety. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Cause of Fire Unknown, Under Investigation
Officials say the cause of the blaze remains unknown and investigations are ongoing.
