A 14-year-old boy has been left with serious, possibly life-changing leg injuries after a hit-and-run in Newmarket Green, SE9, on Monday morning.

The youngster was struck by a car which fled the scene immediately. Police are urgently searching for the vehicle and its driver but no arrests have been made so far.
