Man Charged with Murder of Woman Found Dead at Riverside Close
Alvin Githai, 43, has been charged with the murder of 35-year-old Vivienne Baraka. He is set to appear in court today.
Tragic Discovery at Riverside Close
Police were called to Riverside Close at 3.15pm on March 26 following concerns for a woman’s welfare. Officers and paramedics found Vivienne gravely injured. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem revealed she died from compression to the neck.
Arrest Drama and Family Grief
- Githai was first arrested at the scene but later released under investigation.
- He was re-arrested and formally charged with murder on October 8.
“Vivienne had an infectious smile, was a mother, sister, daughter and a bubbly person who was full of life,” her family said.
“She was outgoing and loved supporting her family, friends, and community. We continue to struggle with her untimely death and aren’t sure if time will ever bring solace or healing after she was taken too soon from us.”
