Man Drenches Cops in Scalding Oil in Shocking Newcastle Attack
Mohammed Sarfaraz, 45, from Newcastle, lost it when police knocked his door in January. Five officers came to question him over a criminal allegation, but Sarfaraz responded with brutal violence — throwing a pan of hot cooking oil straight into their faces, Northumbria Police revealed.
The searing oil seriously injured two officers. One suffered horrifying second and third-degree burns to his face and chest, leaving permanent scars.
Barricade and Taser Standoff
After the attack, Sarfaraz barricaded himself inside a garage, desperate to avoid arrest. Police had no choice but to use a Taser to subdue him before dragging him out and cuffing him.
Nine Years Jail for Brutal Assault on Police
Sarfaraz was charged the very next day with affray and multiple counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. Following a trial, he was convicted and sentenced to a tough nine years behind bars at Newcastle Crown Court.
Police say the attack’s impact is severe, with lasting physical and psychological scars on the officers involved.
