The bright green bus was heading from Yaverland to Yarbridge just before 8am when it veered off the road and overturned on Marshcombe Shute. The road remains fully closed this lunchtime as recovery teams work tirelessly to clear the wreckage.
Emergency Services Flood Scene
- Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue dispatched four fire engines from Ryde, Sandown, and Newport.
- Isle of Wight Ambulance Service sent two ambulance crews, alongside a critical care paramedic, rapid response paramedic, and senior commanders.
- Police officers closed the road and set up traffic diversions to keep the area safe.
Southern Vectis confirmed the bus was driven by a new driver under mentorship, carrying two passengers and the driver at the time.
