Crackdown in Chatham! Two Men Nabbed with Dozens of Drug Wraps
Stopped and Searched on New Road Avenue
Last Friday, patrol officers in Chatham pulled over a suspicious vehicle on New Road Avenue. Inside were two men, who were promptly searched. The result? Over 70 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin found on them.
Car Yields More Drugs, Cash, and a Mobile
The vehicle underwent a thorough search, uncovering even more drugs. Officers also confiscated cash and a mobile phone linked to illicit activities. Both men were swiftly arrested at the scene.
Drug Farm Uncovered in Rochester Raid
Police didn’t stop there. A search at a Rochester address revealed a cannabis cultivation alongside further evidence of drug use and supply. The investigation led to charges against the suspects.
Serious Charges and Court Dates Set
- Cornelius Oliver, 34, from Temple Gardens, Rochester, faces charges of heroin possession with intent to supply, heroin and crack cocaine supply, cannabis possession, and acquiring criminal property.
- Jake Stewart, 31, from Federation Road, Greater London, is charged with possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply, and involvement in heroin supply.
Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 20 and have been remanded. They are due back at Maidstone Crown Court on March 20 for trial.
