Mother Left Fighting for Life After Brutal Petrol Bomb Attack in Stoke
A 31-year-old mum is battling for her life after a terrifying petrol bomb was hurled at her Stoke-on-Trent home. She suffered horrific burns over 65% of her body and spent two months in a coma. The nightmare didn’t end there—she had to relearn how to walk following the attack.
The firebombing happened on December 16, 2021, on Beverley Drive. A gang set her house ablaze in a vicious act of revenge. Her 13-year-old daughter also sustained burns but bravely escaped by smashing a bedroom window.
Fiery Revenge Rampage After Street Brawl Goes Violent
The deadly attack was sparked by a savage brawl earlier that day on Kildare Street, Longton. The fight involved several men, including Naveed Hussain and Bilal Ahmed. Kashif Ahmed was stabbed during the chaos.
Hours later, the same gang targeted Naveed’s home, demanding to see him. When he didn’t appear, they launched petrol bombs through the windows, drenching the mum in fuel and setting her alight.
In a desperate bid to survive, she jumped from an upstairs window, breaking ribs, fracturing her pelvis, and damaging her liver. Quick thinking from her daughter prevented an even deadlier outcome.

Police and Fire Chiefs Praise Teamwork in Delivering Justice
“This was a very detailed and thorough investigation. We left no stone unturned,” said Detective Constable Howard Davies. “It was a horrific ordeal for a mother to be set on fire in her own home in front of her daughter.”
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Michelle Hickmott added: “We are extremely pleased with the outcome. Our teams used specialist skills to confirm the fire was deliberate and helped bring these arsonists to justice.”
The shocking revenge attack has rocked the Stoke community, but thanks to relentless police and fire service efforts, the violent offenders now face the full force of the law.
