Burglar Duo Nabbed and Locked Up After Brazen Lymington Spree

Two Men Nabbed in Early Morning Theft Spree

Two men have been sentenced to a total of eight years and nine months after a string of burglaries rocked Lymington. Terrance Bryant, 41, a New Forest drifter, was handed six years in prison. His accomplice, Luke Christopher Smith, 36, from Poole, got two years and nine months. The pair faced justice at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, 23 February.

Rampage Over One Hour: Bikes, Burglaries, and Booty

The crime spree unfolded in just one hectic hour on the early hours of Tuesday, 5 August 2025. Their daylight robbery list included:

  • Snatching two BMX bikes from a van on High Street
  • Attempting to break into a flat on St Thomas Street — and failing
  • Trying to force entry into a salon on Stanford Road
  • Smith nicking a camera from a parked car
  • Burglaring a home in Tylers Close and walking off with cash and gin

The pair fled on the stolen BMX bikes but didn’t get far. Police caught them in Pennington, still lugging the stolen booze.

Guilty Verdict: Justice for Victims

Bryant faced charges including burglary, two attempted burglaries, and theft from a motor vehicle. Smith was charged with the same offences plus an extra theft count. Smith pleaded guilty early, while Bryant admitted only some charges. But a jury at Southampton Crown Court found Bryant guilty of burglary and the second attempt on 28 January.

“I am so pleased and relieved for the victims that Bryant and Smith have been placed behind bars, where they belong. They will now have considerable time to reflect on their actions,” said Police Staff Investigator Stephen Hortin.
