Kent Police have charged a man following a brutal assault outside a home in Chatham.

Woman in 80s Stabbed with Scissors

The drama unfolded at 2.07pm on Saturday, 14 March 2026, when officers were called to reports of a woman being attacked with scissors on The Chase.

Paramedics found the elderly victim with stab wounds and rushed her to a London hospital. Thankfully, her injuries are serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.

Suspect Also Attacks Man Before Arrest

Before the police arrived, the attacker also assaulted a man unknown to the victims. Officers tracked down and arrested the suspect just 24 minutes after the first call, at 2.31pm.

Orlando Foster Held on Multiple Charges

25-year-old Orlando Foster from Jeffery Street, Gillingham, now faces charges including wounding with intent, actual bodily harm, and threatening behaviour with a bladed weapon in public.

He was remanded in custody and is due in Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 16 March.

Police Boost Patrols, Say Incident Is Isolated

Kent Police have stepped up patrols around The Chase as enquiries continue. Authorities believe this was an isolated event but urge anyone with information to come forward.
