Man Charged After Brutal Scissors Attack on Elderly Woman in Chatham

Kent Police have arrested and charged a man following a shocking assault outside a home in Chatham.

The terrifying attack happened at 2:07pm on Saturday, 14 March 2026, on The Chase. Officers were called to reports that an elderly woman was being stabbed with scissors.

Paramedics found the victim with stab wounds and rushed her to a London hospital. Thankfully, her injuries, though serious, are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Suspect Assaults Another Man Before Arrest

Before police arrived, the attacker also assaulted a man unaffiliated with the victims. Officers tracked down and arrested 25-year-old Orlando Foster just 24 minutes after the first call, at 2:31pm.

Orlando Foster Faces Multiple Charges

Foster, from Jeffery Street, Gillingham, now faces charges including wounding with intent, actual bodily harm, and threatening behaviour with a bladed weapon in public.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 16 March.
