A 44-year-old man has been locked up after viciously attacking a woman, smashing her head so hard she lost several front teeth.

From Roommate to Abuser

Robert Beeson, from Waterbeach, had rented a room to his victim in September 2025. They’d known each other for around two years and briefly shared an intimate relationship. But things turned ugly on October 6 when the woman shared a harmless joke a friend made about Beeson. The controlling and jealous man flew into a rage. He stormed into her room, grabbed her by the arms, and hurled her across the room. She hit her head hard enough to knock out teeth. When she tried to escape, Beeson punched her in the ear.

Violence Escalates — Teeth Knocked Out

The very next day, the victim returned to collect her belongings and look for keys Beeson claimed she’d lost. While she knelt searching, Beeson struck her full force in the face with his knee. She blacked out.

“When she came round, she saw a pool of blood and realised her front teeth were missing,” police reported. Beeson was seen cleaning blood off the sofa.

He locked her inside, telling her she couldn’t leave until her injuries healed.

Rescue and Justice

On October 7, a friend checked on the woman after not hearing from her. Beeson said she was sleeping, but the friend forced her way inside. There, the victim hid beneath a duvet, visibly injured. Beeson denied wrongdoing and begged her not to call the cops. The friend called the police anyway, helping the victim escape to safety. She was rushed to the hospital with extensive facial fractures, bruising, and five missing teeth. Beeson later surrendered himself to the police. On April 8 at Peterborough Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and assault by beating. He was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars and slapped with a ten-year restraining order.
