A determined stalker who ignored restraining orders to terrorise two women with threatening emails and social media messages has finally been locked up.
Chilling Threats and Brazen Contact
Jack Bolton-Poole, 24, from Rochford, first got a suspended sentence in 2024 for stalking the same women. But he didn’t stop there. In November 2025, after initially denying the charges, he admitted sending vile emails including one titled “WE WILL KILL YOU” One victim received a message at work claiming Bolton-Poole had “taken his own life”, followed by another email loaded with the threat: “a life for a life.” Both women feared for their safety after personal details, including a work address, were shared in the messages.
Police Crack Down on Stalker’s Digital Trail
Detectives tracked the emails to Bolton-Poole’s home IP address. He was arrested in February 2025 but refused to speak. Forensic checks revealed chilling internet searches about one victim’s work address and setting up new email accounts for stalking. He faced multiple charges including stalking with fear of violence, harassment, and breaching restraining and stalking prevention orders. Initially denying the allegations, Bolton-Poole eventually pled guilty to key charges at Basildon Crown Court in November 2025.
Breach of Bail and Final Jail Sentence
Despite being released on bail pending sentencing, Bolton-Poole broke strict conditions by contacting a victim again in January 2026. Using a fake Instagram profile under a woman’s name, he tried to follow her. Police swiftly arrested him, finding an unregistered device in his wardrobe. He then admitted to more stalking breaches and harassment charges and was remanded in custody. On Friday 17 April, the court handed him a hefty sentence of five years and ten months behind bars. This sentence sends a clear warning: stalkers who threaten and terrorise their victims will face serious jail time.
