11 Cars Torched in Suspicious Late-Night Blazes Across Town

Kent Police sprang into action shortly after midnight on Monday, 14 March 2022, when Kent Fire and Rescue spotted a suspicious car fire on Newcastle Hill. That was just the start.

Fires Erupt Across Multiple Streets

Flames quickly spread with vehicle fires reported on Finsbury Road, Broad Street, Ann’s Road, Church Road, and Denmark Hill. Alarmingly, one of the burning vehicles was an occupied campervan. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.

In total, 11 vehicles were damaged in this spate of arson attacks.

Police Nab One Suspect, Seek Public Help

Officers, backed by CCTV footage, arrested two men from Ramsgate. One was charged while the other was released without further action.

Kent Police are now urgently appealing to anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage from the listed streets around the time of the fires to come forward.
