Teen Arrested in South London Terror Probe
A 15-year-old boy was arrested in south London as part of a Met Counter Terrorism Command operation on Friday, 7 January. Police detained the teenager on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
No Imminent Threat to the Public
Officers searched the address in the early morning and have now completed their inquiries. The teen was taken to a London police station and has since been bailed to appear at a later date. Authorities say there is no immediate danger to the public.
Investigation Tied to Extreme Right-Wing Links
Police suspect the probe is connected to extreme right-wing ideology. Each year, thousands of reports from the public help keep communities safe from terrorism.
