Thugs Swipe Entire Christmas Stash from Family Home

Heartless burglars have left a Worksop family devastated after stealing every single wrapped present from their house in the early hours of Tuesday, December 21. The gifts, all prepped and ready to be placed under the tree on Christmas Eve, vanished during a brazen break-in on Manvers Street.

Mum Samantha Headland, 36, revealed the heartbreaking impact on her two children, aged 11 and 12, who were left tearful and traumatised.

“They’ve Ruined Christmas for Our Kids”

“How could they ruin our Christmas for our kids and invade our home like this? Even the Grinch stole Christmas but at least he brought it back,” Samantha said.

“I’m not bothered if I don’t get any presents — it’s just my kids that matter. It’s so heartbreaking that they took all the children’s presents. That’s what hurts the most. You can replace presents but not the magic of surprises or children opening them.”

“The kids have been crying, really quiet and scared. They even stayed up later with me because they were frightened.”

Burglar’s Midnight Raid Details

Samantha woke just before 3am to strange noises and realised two intruders were prowling the house alone with her and the kids inside.

  • Burglars rifled through downstairs and the spare room.
  • They unplugged a VR headset and messed with gaming disks.
  • All the Christmas presents, carefully wrapped and stored away, were stolen.
  • Boxes of sweets and chocolates displayed on the coffee table were eaten.
  • Family valuables gone: a Samsung watch, £110 cash, rings, tablets, pain medication, and even drinks earmarked for Christmas.
  • Lateral flow COVID tests meant for the children’s return to school also vanished.

Samantha immediately called police, who arrived swiftly, but the damage was done.

Police Plea: Help Bring These Scrooge Thieves to Justice

Superintendent Kevin Broadhead from Nottinghamshire Police condemned the raid.

“No child should wake up on Christmas morning without presents to open, especially when their parents worked so hard to provide them. This is incredibly sad, happening so close to the festive day.

“People should feel safe in their homes and not live in fear of break-ins. Burglaries are not only financially damaging but emotionally scarring.”

“We urge anyone with information to come forward to assist our enquiries.”

If you know anything, call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 37 of 21 December 2021.

This poor family’s Christmas spirit has been snatched—but you can help bring these villains to justice.
