Police were called at around 10pm on Tuesday, 21 September, to a property on West Green Road, N15, where they discovered the body of a 36-year-old man.

The victim had multiple injuries, sparking an immediate murder investigation led by Detective Chief Inspector Neil Rawlinson from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

Suspect Arrested as Police Probe Suspicious Death

A 42-year-old man from Finsbury Park was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 23 September. He remains in custody at a north London police station as enquiries continue.

DCI Rawlinson reassured the community, saying: “This was an isolated incident. An arrest has been made, and no other persons are sought in connection with this death. My thoughts are with the victim’s family at this sad time.”

The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. Formal identification is pending, with a post-mortem scheduled for Friday, 24 September, at Haringey Mortuary.

Police Boost Patrols Amid Rising Community Worries

Chief Superintendent Simon Crick, head of the North Area Command Unit, expressed his sadness over the “senseless killing” in Haringey.

“Once again, family and friends must endure the trauma of losing a loved one. Though this case differs from other recent incidents, it offers little comfort to those affected,” he said.

“We understand the anxiety this causes. We have increased police patrols across the area. These are your officers—please talk to them if you have any concerns.”

“I’ll be meeting with community leaders and partners to outline our action plan and to listen to the concerns of local residents. Only by working together can we end this wave of violence.”
