Teen Stabbed to Death in Shocking Preston Road Attack
Police were called to Preston Road just after 11.30pm on Thursday, 18 February following reports of a 16-year-old boy suffering stab wounds.
The teenager was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Despite desperate efforts by emergency services, he died shortly before 9am the next day.
Crime Scene Sealed Off, No Arrests Yet
A large crime scene remains in place on Preston Road, between Logan Road and The Avenue, disrupting local bus routes.
Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime have taken over the investigation. So far, nobody has been arrested.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“It is another tragedy that a boy of just 16 years old has died as the result of a knife crime,” said Chief Superintendent Sara Leach.
“My thoughts are with his family at this time. Officers and homicide detectives are doing everything possible to find and arrest those responsible.”
“There will be increased reassurance patrols around Preston Road as the local community mourns this terrible loss.”
