Following these attacks, police imposed a Section 60 stop and search order across Croydon. But the night wasn’t over. At 9.51pm, emergency crews rushed to Cudham Drive after reports of a weapon-wielding group damaging a vehicle and a stabbing.

Though shots were reportedly fired, officers found no evidence of gunfire. Specialist firearms teams arrived to find only a man with a minor hand cut. No arrests have yet been made.

Police Vow Action Against Croydon Crime Surge

Superintendent Mitch Carr said: “Croydon residents will rightly be concerned by this spate of shocking violent incidents. We share their concern and are doing everything to catch the offenders.”

“At this stage, there’s no evidence these incidents are linked. They’re being treated as isolated cases.”

“We will not tolerate violence on our streets. Expect to see more police patrols across the borough. If you have information, report it immediately.”
