Thieves target charity cash in daring Hartlepool heist over Easter
Break-in at Lee Meats shocks local community
Cleveland Police are hunting a crook who broke into Lee Meats, a Hartlepool butchers on Chatham Road, stealing charity donation boxes during the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The robbery took place sometime between Sunday, April 20, and Tuesday, April 22. The suspect reportedly climbed onto the shop’s roof to break in and make off with money meant for good causes.
Police launch urgent appeal for witnesses
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said:
“Anyone with information or doorbell, dashcam, or private CCTV footage which could help is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference 070898.”
