Teen Arrested After Brutal Attack on Woman in Teynham
A woman in her 50s was viciously attacked on Teynham Church Road at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, 22 May 2024. The victim was walking when a stranger suddenly approached her from behind.
Witnesses say she was pushed to the ground, then punched and stamped on. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
15-Year-Old Boy Charged with Attempted GBH
Police from the north division’s Criminal Investigation Department sprang into action. The same day, they arrested a 15-year-old boy from the Swale area.
The teenager faces charges of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent linked to this attack. He also stands accused of involvement in three other assaults reported in Teynham and Ashford between 18 February and 19 April.
Next Court Date Set
The youth appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 May, and was remanded into youth detention. His next hearing is scheduled for Thursday, 30 May at the same court.

Investigators are urging anyone who saw the assault or has CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to come forward.
