Texas Woman Charged After Attempted Drowning of Toddler at Pool
A terrifying attack has shaken Euless, Texas. Elizabeth Wolf, 42, now faces attempted murder charges after allegedly trying to drown a 3-year-old Palestinian girl at a neighbourhood swimming pool.
Racial Motive Sparks Outrage
The shocking incident happened on May 19 and has been slammed by civil rights groups as racially motivated. According to CAIR-Texas, Wolf targeted the little girl while she swam with her family.
The toddler’s mother, known only as Mrs. H, was supervising her children wearing a hijab and modest swimwear when Wolf reportedly hurled racist insults before grabbing the kids and dragging them to the pool’s deep end.
“We are American citizens, originally from Palestine, and I don’t know where to go to feel safe with my kids. My country is facing a war, and we are facing that hate here,” Mrs. H said.
Mrs. H courageously jumped in to save her children. Wolf then ripped off her headscarf in a chilling act of aggression.
Local Police Act, Community Demands Justice
Police arrived quickly and arrested Wolf, initially charging her with public intoxication. But the family remains traumatised by the ordeal, which has sparked calls for tougher action on hate crimes.
Texas House Rep Salman Bhojani, representing Euless, condemned the attack. “Hate has no place in Euless or anywhere in our great state,” he declared.
Rising Tensions Amid Global Conflict
The attack comes amid ongoing violence in Gaza that has left thousands of Palestinians dead. Recent months have seen several hate crimes targeting Palestinian-Americans, including a fatal stabbing of a six-year-old boy in Illinois.
CAIR reported over 3,500 bias and discrimination complaints late last year and vows to push for justice and awareness.
As the community reels, the message is clear: unity and zero tolerance for hate.
