Man Dies After Horror Balham Stabbing
A murder probe is underway after a man stabbed on Laitwood Road, Balham, in the early hours on Monday died in hospital.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 5:40 a.m. to find the victim with life-threatening stab wounds. Despite frantic efforts by medics, he later succumbed to his injuries at a major trauma centre.
Suspect Held as Police Hunt for Victim’s Identity
The victim has not yet been identified. Met Police are working to confirm who he is and to inform his next of kin. A 21-year-old man arrested initially for attempted murder has now been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 6 a.m., police were called to Laitwood Road following reports of a stabbing. Officers found a man with stab injuries. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he sadly later died. Enquiries continue to identify him and locate his next of kin.”
Emergency Crews Battled to Save Victim
The London Ambulance Service confirmed dispatching paramedics, crews, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene. A spokesperson added, “Our crews treated a man at the scene before taking him to a London major trauma centre as a priority.”
