B&M Heroes Save Birthday Girl After Birthday Cash Chaos!

A 10-year-old’s birthday blow turned bright thanks to the quick thinking and kindness of B&M staff in Fareham. Grace lost £40 of her precious birthday money during a trip to the store – but the team pulled out all the stops to save her special day.

Birthday Disaster in the Aisles

Grace’s mum, Dana Squibb, filled us in: “It was my daughter’s 10th birthday on Friday, July 28. The next day, we popped into B&M on Newgate Lane so Grace could spend some of her £50 birthday money on Jo Jo bows she’d been eyeing up.”

But disaster struck within 15 minutes. “Grace managed to lose £40. We searched everywhere and staff helped us check the aisles, but no luck. I gave the staff my number hoping someone might hand it in,” Dana explained.

Community and Staff Rally Round

“My husband posted on the local Facebook page and we were heartbroken but overwhelmed by offers of help. We kindly declined money from strangers but the B&M manager saw the post, checked CCTV and got in touch privately,” she said.

The manager’s message was a lifeline. “I nearly cried reading his generous offer,” Dana revealed.

Birthday Magic Restored

The next day, Grace returned to B&M with no clue what was coming. “Robert, Simon, Milly and their amazing team surprised her with a ‘girlie bundle’ including the Jo Jo bows and a card with money inside,” said Dana.

“On top of that, Grace received extra cash from friends and even a friend of my cousin who saw the Facebook post!”

“Thank you Paula, Danny, Nadene, Adam, Robert, Simon, and the wonderful B&M staff. You truly made Grace’s day – her smile couldn’t have been bigger!”

This heartwarming tale proves a little kindness goes a long way – especially when it saves a birthday.
