Tragedy at Thames: Man Found Dead Near London Bridge After River Plunge

A man was spotted entering the River Thames near London Bridge last night, sparking a major search involving multiple emergency teams.

Emergency Teams Launch Search

At around 5.30pm on Monday, December 12, the Metropolitan Police’s Marine Policing Unit, City of London Police, and the RNLI responded to reports of a man seen entering the river. Despite a rapid and extensive search, officers initially failed to locate him.

Body Recovered Hours Later

Tragically, a man’s body was found on the banks of the Thames near London Bridge at 9.25pm. Police believe it is the same individual seen going into the water earlier that evening.

Investigation Ongoing But Not Suspicious

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed:

“Police are working to confirm his identity and notify his next of kin. The circumstances surrounding the death are not being treated as suspicious.”
