Brighton Drug Bust: Two Nabbed After Volvo Sting

Brighton’s Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) cracked down on suspected drug dealers following a tip-off about a dodgy Volvo cruising Lewes Road on February 21. Officers tailed the vehicle to a Hove address, where they struck gold — a stash of cannabis and other suspected class A drugs.

The vehicle stop quickly turned into a major drug find. Alongside the drugs, officers seized thousands of pounds in cash, putting a serious dent in the local drug trade.

Two Arrested, Both Released on Bail

A 34-year-old woman was arrested, suspected of involvement not only in drug dealing but also possession of an offensive weapon. Both she and another suspect were released on bail pending further investigations.

SEU Inspector Vows to Keep Pressure On

“Our officers were alerted to the suspicious vehicle linked to drug dealing in the city,” said SEU Inspector Ollie Pullen.

“We work hard to deny criminals the use of the road network and disrupt the supply of drugs that have a major impact on our communities. After searching the vehicle and the home address we found a large quantity of cannabis, other suspected class A drugs, and thousands of pounds in cash. All were seized as part of the investigation.”
