Horrific Acid Attack in Thornton Heath Leaves Man Blind
On Monday morning, 7 December 2020, two men were viciously assaulted with corrosive liquid on Thornton Road, Thornton Heath. At around 8.10am, the pair were approached by a stranger who suddenly threw acid over them before fleeing towards Limpsfield Avenue.
Victims Hospitalised, One Permanently Blinded
Both victims were rushed to hospital. Shockingly, one man has suffered permanent loss of sight following the brutal attack.
Suspect Linked To Earlier Violent Incident
One victim revealed the same attacker showed up at his home in September, claiming to deliver a letter. When the man reached for it, he was punched in the face with a bicycle chain wrapped around the suspect’s fist.
No CCTV, No Motive – Police Hunt Man in Blue Mask
- The suspect is described as a white or Asian man in his 30s with a slim build.
- He wore a blue medical mask, long black jacket with hood up, black trousers, and shoes at the time.
- No CCTV has surfaced to help identify him.
- The motive behind the attack remains a mystery.
