Boxing Star Amir Khan Robbed at Gunpoint in Leyton
Boxing legend Amir Khan was held up at gunpoint and robbed of a luxury watch worth around £70,000 in Leyton last Monday.
£70,000 Franck Muller Watch Stolen
Detective Constable Ben Grix from the Met’s North East Burglary and Robbery Team revealed the stolen item is a rare, custom-made Franck Muller timepiece. “It’s a high-value, one-off design easily spotted if offered for sale,” he warned.
“If you or anyone you know is offered the watch at a discounted price, please contact us immediately,” DC Grix added.
Robbery Details and Police Appeal
- Incident occurred at 9:15pm on Monday, 18 April on High Road, Leyton.
- Two males threatened Khan with a gun before snatching the watch and fleeing.
- No shots were fired and no one was hurt.
“We want to hear from anyone who saw the robbery or has footage of the scene,” said DC Grix. “If you were driving nearby and have dash-cam footage, please check it carefully.”
“Being a victim of an armed offence is traumatic — if you have information, please do the right thing and come forward.”
No Arrests Yet – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Police have made no arrests so far. The investigation is ongoing.
