Three Men Sought Over Tesco Distraction Theft in Northampton

Northamptonshire Police are hunting three men after a brazen distraction theft at Tesco in Weston Favell. The victim was targeted while paying for her groceries on the morning of Friday, May 31.

How The Theft Unfolded

Between 10:30am and midday, a woman entered her PIN at the checkout, but an unknown individual was seen watching. After leaving the store, two men approached her in the car park. They claimed her car had been damaged and distracted her. While one chatted her up, the other swiped her bank card from her handbag.

The stolen card was quickly used at Tesco Mereway to buy travel money, raising alarm bells with police.

Police Release Images and Urge Caution

Officers have released photos of the suspects and are asking the public to come forward with any information. A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson warned shoppers to cover their PINs and be alert to distractions when using bank cards.
