Extinction Rebellion Protesters Locked On Outside Barclays in Brighton

This afternoon, November 14th, Extinction Rebellion activists staged a bold protest outside Barclays bank on North Street, Brighton. The eco-warriors “locked on” to the building in a dramatic stand against high street banks. Similar actions erupted across the UK, with protests reported in Birmingham and Aberdeen.

Four Arrested as Police Step In

Sussex Police arrived promptly at 1.15pm to manage the situation. A spokesperson said: “Police attended a protest being held outside a business in North Street, Brighton. Officers engaged with those present and the business to facilitate a peaceful protest and minimise disruption to the public.”

Despite efforts to keep the peace, four protesters were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and taken into custody.
