Crash Chaos: Newport to Ryde Road Shut After Two-Car Smash
A key road linking Newport and Ryde is blocked after a lunchtime collision today (Tuesday 3rd July 2018). Emergency services rushed to the scene on Fairlee Road following a side-swipe crash involving a Toyota Yaris and a Ford Fiesta.
Emergency Teams Rush To Collision
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are treating two people for minor injuries. A third victim was taken to hospital after being treated at the scene. Fire crews from Newport were called out amid fears someone may have been trapped.
Road Policing Units Monitor Scene
Armed Islands Roads Policing officers are also present near the Mill Lane junction in Newport. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
